Boots No7 Eyeliner

After watching Tanya Burr's Make Up Your Mind Monday on black gel eyeliners on YouTube I decided that I would purchase the winner.  This was Boots No7 Eyeliner from their new spring collection.  I have never owned a gel eyeliner before,  I normally stick to kohl pencil or liquid pen eyeliners and have found that they have worked for me.

Now I am a convert.  I don't think that I will ever buy liquid liners again.  I absolutely adore this product.  It is sooo creamy and glides on really easily and unlike my liquid eyeliners didn't smudge or make a mess at all.  I was surprised how well my first attempt with a winged eyeliner turned out.  It does come with a mini brush but I thought it was too fiddly so I applied it using my Ruby and Millie angled brush.  I usually use that to fill in my eyebrows so I have just purchased from Topshop online, an eyeliner brush which cost me £3 so I'm hoping that works just as well when it arrives!

The eyeliner costs £10 but there is a £5 off voucher for Boots No7 circulating at the moment.  If you spend over £5 in store they will give you a voucher that you can then use on No7.  I did this and it meant that this wonderful product only cost me a fiver! Brill.  :)

I would definitely recommend this product, especially if like me you have never used a gel eyeliner before.

Perfume Collection

I have just been so busy with university this week that I've hardly had time to think about blogging.  I've actually managed to get lots of work done, which has been good, but I couldn't help but think 'need to do a blog' the whole time, as its been over a week since my last post.

I'm setting aside a couple of hours today to dedicate to my blog and think of ideas for future posts! I thought for now though as it would be quite quick and fairly easy if I did my perfume collection.  I'm not going to try and explain how they smell because it won't be accurate as I'm not all clued up on the notes and scents in a perfume.  I am a big fan of really sweet and florally scents though and if you have smelt any of them you will get the idea.

I recently just placed an order on CheapSmells for some perfume that I ran out of a while ago, but also one that I had when I was in school and I just fancied re-purchasing it.  I bought Paul Smith Floral, which just reminds me of summer, every time I spray it I think of sun, sea, sand and gorgeous holidays.  I love it, especially when the weather in England is so pants, it just takes me away to Jamaica or somewhere.
The other perfume I bought was Britney Spears Fantasy.  I had it in sixth form and I think it was kind of a phase that everyone went through at my school, because everyone used to smell of it.  I would walk into the common room and just be hit with Fantasy, so I didn't buy it again and just forgot about it really. But I've been working quite a bit recently and had some extra cash so I thought why not!

I have two perfumes which  I think of as my 'classy' perfumes and they are Jean Paul Gaultier Classic and Miss Dior Cherie.  I will wear these when I go out for a meal to a restaurant, or anywhere that I consider a bit special or fancy.  Miss Dior Cherie is my absolute fave, so I often find myself reaching for that a bit more than just on fancy occasions.  That's one of the great things about perfume, if you're having a rubbish day, spray your favourite scent and its an immediate mood booster.  However I also find, with my favourite perfume that I don't want to use it that much in case it runs out!  Miss Dior is just so expensive and I ran out and had to wait like 7 months to get it as a birthday present. I kept the empty bottle for ages and although there was nothing left in it to spray I just used to smell it.

L-R Jean Paul Gaultier, Miss Dior Cherie
I love to wear my really sweet florally perfumes both day and night and all year round.  I have a completely different idea to perfume than a lot of my friends.  I tend to wear a fragrance any time of day, any time of year just because I love it.  Whereas a lot of my friends will have a signature scent that they always wear and some will have perfumes just for day and perfumes just for night.  In a way I like that because whenever I smell it I'm always like 'Oh, that really smells of you'.  But for me perfume is something I wear when it takes my fancy and it won't matter whether its day or night, summer or winter, I wear them all year round.

L-R: YSL Elle, Nina by Ninna Ricci, JLo Glow, Escada Moon Sparkle

YSL Elle, and the Escada Moon Sparkle were introduced to me by my sister in law and were both gifts from her and I'm so glad that she bought them for me because I love them and both bottles that I own now are re-purchases.  In fact all the perfume I own bar Jennifer Lopez Glow are repurchases which just go to show how much I love them.  The last one is Nina by Nina Ricci and again it is just summery and sweet.  All my perfumes remind me of the summer and they all come in such gorgeous bottles which I love because it's nice to have pretty bottles filled with pretty scents.

Lastly, as a rule among my girlfriends, we don't actually buy any perfume that someone already has.  We've never really discussed it but we all feel the same way about it.  However I love a lot of their perfumes so I am just going to add them in here as well. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of them.

Armani Code
Hugo Boss Orange
Gucci Guilty
Viktor Rolf Flower Bomb
Ghost Deep Night
Kate Moss

I tend to get my perfumes as Christmas or birthday presents, in the duty free or when I find a good bargain on the internet.  CheapSmells and FeelUnique are really good discount websites and have a wide selection.  If you know of any other fruity perfumes that you think I might like, I'd love to hear from you.

My Favourite Barry M Products

I think the best thing about high street make up is the affordable prices.  It means that testing and trying products and not liking them is not so disheartening when you've paid £6 for a mascara as opposed to £25! It also means (in my head) the cheaper it is, the more you can buy! Which is never a good outlook to have on things, as I have learnt - less is more.  Somehow, that still doesn't stop me.

Ever since I developed my interest in make up I have discovered some high street beauty brands that I love and some which I hate. None of them offer the perfect 'make up collection' for me but I don't think any beauty brand does.  I'd be shocked to meet someone who only uses one brand of makeup for everything.  After all, variety is the spice of life!

When it comes to Barry M, it's their lip and nail products that do it for me.  I am really not a fan of the dazzle dusts because I am just so clumsy and I just get into a big glittery mess with them.  And in all honesty I've not really tried any other of their products like blushers or eyeliners because I've never felt the need as I am happy with other brands.  I don't have a staggering amount of Barry M nail varnishes, like some of my friends do, but I really love the ones I do have, as well as the ones I borrow off my house-mates!  Below are my faves.

Back L-R:
1.Nail Paint 293 Grey.
2.Nail Paint 310 Mushroom.
3.Lip Gloss 2 Toffee.
4.Lip Gloss 12 Strawberry Milkshake.
5.Lip Gloss 11 Coral.
6.Nail Paint 305 Pink Flamingo.
7.Nail Paint 279 Bright Pink.
8. Nail Paint 304 Mint Green.
Front L-R
9. Lip Paint 129-Palest Lavender.

10. Lip Paint 100 Baby Pink.

11. Lip Paint 101 Marshmellow.

I love the 3 lip sticks for their colour, as the texture of them is a bit weird.129 is really soft and creamy, so much so that I have broken it several times and am on my 4th lipstick!  101 and 100 are really drying and if you have not moisturised your lips or they are chapped it will show every bit of dry, flaky skin.  These may seem like bad qualities but they're easy to rectify - just keep your lips soft and keep 129 at a cool temperature, any heat and it seems to melt!

Barry M lipglosses, in my opinion, are the best lipglosses. They're one of the few that I have found that aren't really thick and gloopy.  I hate lipglosses that feel like you've put glue on your lips.  The Lancome Juicy Tubes is an example that were always too gooey for me.  I like the Barry M ones because they are light and smooth and smell and taste divine.

Top L-R: Toffee, Strawberry Milkshake
Bottom: Coral

I love love LOVE their toffee lipgloss.  I think it is actually my favourite Barry M product of all time. I was inspired to buy this after watching a video on YouTube by Fleur De Force who raved about it, and now I can see why. I always have to apply it twice because the first time I just lick it off!

I tend to buy my Barry M products from Superdrug or Boots.  If ever I am in a Topshop that sells it I will buy it in there and get my 10% student discount!  Amazon also stock Barry M and some of the products are a little cheaper but nothing beats the 3 for 2 offers in Boots or Superdrug.

First Ever Blog

So after several months of being a beauty follower on YouTube and reading blogs I have decided that its time that I joined the beauty world blogging bandwagon and so to say "put my 2 cents in".

I am by no means an expert when it comes to beauty and like most girls I think it is more of an interest and a love for beauty that has inspired me to start this blog.  I am not sure what I am even going to write yet, or  if it is actually for me.  But as it is still sort of the New Year and I have not stuck to any or my resolutions, I thought that it's time to try something new, so here I am - blogging!

I think today I am going to keep it short and sweet and wait with baited breath to see what my first 'real' blog will be about.
